As of 2021 Green Note has had equipment to be able to capture performances on 4 cameras with high quality, multi-track audio. There is also a live-streaming package available. Importantly, the recording is discrete and set up so that it won't intrude or impact on the performance and the audio quality has been given as much care and consideration as the video.

These services need to be pre-booked with as much notice as possible to ensure the equipment and personnel are available. There are several packages available to suit budgets and need and we like to think it offers extremely good value for the quality on offer.

For performances that are live-streamed, a copy of the live-edited video synced to an audio mix of the FOH feed combined with the room mics is available for musicians to take home and use. For all other recordings, only the raw files of the unedited video and unmixed audio stems are available and will need post-production.

Please note all the prices listed here are for RAW FILES. This will include include video files from any cameras, multi-track audio from the mixing desk (up to 14 channels) plus audio from a stereo pair of room microphones to capture the ‘live’ feel and the audience response. To create videos ready for public consumption the audio will need to be mixed and synced with the video, and the camera shots edited together at a later date. This can be done at home with programmes such as Logic or Final Cut, but is also a service I provide and my video editing rates are listed below.

Prices for this service are listed below and are due before the performance. This does not include the cost of doing live sound which is separate and arranged through the venue. Prices are based on the recording of two sets and around 90-100 minutes of stage time.

1st video of a single song £125 from a set, then £60 each for subsequent songs from the same set. Changes to delivered videos charged at £30 per hour.  A Compilation video of 3 or more songs are charged at £60 per song.

Now Available: £50 discount on video editing if you mix the audio yourself.

(multi track + ambient)

You receive audio stems (.wav files) from each channel of the desk plus a stereo recording of the ambient room microphones. These are the raw files for you to take away and mix into finished tracks.

Fixed cameras are available to film different angles. One (opposite the stage, one at the stagefront lights, one (4k HD) at the back of the room and one (1080p HD) by the mixing desk.

(4 cameras + Audio)

4 Cameras plus audio from the desk and an ambient pair of mics in the room. Due to the small venue size I am unable to remain in the room during performance. NOTE: Different Cameras: 4k Camcorders (NOT DSLR)

(single camera only)

You receive the audio files as before as well as HD video files from a wall-mounted camera opposite performance area on stage left. These are raw files for you to take away and mix/sync/edit into music videos.

Audio recorded with a Cymatic Audio LR16 running from the direct outs of the venue's Allen & Heath Mix Wizard. Videos recorded via 4 SonyA6400 DSLR cameras at 1080p for streaming or up to 4k for recording.

Getting you the files: (Multi-cam 4k recordings can easily exceed 100GB in data)

1. Online transfer: I can host the files for two weeks on Dropbox for you to download. This is the easiest way to transfer the files although with large projects it is likely to take a while and may be best to set downloading and leave overnight. I recommend downloading each video file seperately using the Chrome browser as this allows you to pick up downloads from where they might have stopped if they have timed out. Good internet speed essential!

2. 'Snail Mail': I can post you an SD card or thumbdrive containing your files which you send back after transferring the data. Either you provide me with the drive or I can supply one at cost or for a refundable deposit if returned within 10 days.

LIVE RECORDINGS: multi-track audio and video

Since 2006 I have been resident sound engineer at London's biggest small venue.

I immediately felt an affinity to the place and it's my favourite venue in London for it's intimacy, atmosphere, food and friendliness. I cut my teeth there and although I have engineered in all sizes of venues across the UK and beyond, the Green Note endures as my musical Mecca.
